Bring a piece of Rajasthan's royal heritage into your home with this handcrafted Jaipur Blue Pottery plate. Made using a centuries old technique unique to Jaipur, this piece features a deep cobalt blue glazed surface adorned with hand painted golden yellow pom pom blossoms accented by rust red buds, connected by a graceful ivory scrollwork vine and sage green leaves, all bordered by a clean cobalt and white banded rim.

Each piece is entirely handmade and hand painted by skilled artisans, using a traditional quartz based ceramic technique passed down through generations  no two pieces are ever exactly alike. The allover scrolling vine pattern and vivid contrast of blue and gold make it a striking statement piece, equally beautiful on the table or displayed as wall art.

  • Perfect as a serving plate, dinner table centerpiece, or hung as wall art
  • Each piece has slight variations in painting  a mark of authentic handmade craft

Details:

Base Ingredients — Powdered Quartz: fine crystalline silica stone that provides structure. Cullet: ground recycled glass that melts during firing to create vitrification. Fuller's Earth: a highly absorbent cosmetic grade clay that adds minimal plasticity.

Binding Agents — Tragacanth Gum: a natural, plant based water soluble gum used to hold the raw powders together. Sodium Carbonate: a fluxing agent that lowers the melting temperature of the glass components.

Colorants & Glazes — Cobalt Oxide: the mineral pigment responsible for the deep blue background tones. Iron Oxide: the mineral pigment used to create the golden yellow blossoms and rust red bud accents. Copper Oxide: the mineral pigment used to create the sage green leaf details. Lead Free Borosilicate Glaze: the clear glass coating applied before the final firing to ensure a glossy, waterproof finish.
